The Story Behind True North

True North Silver Co. is more than a name. It represents a journey.

True North is the fixed geographic direction toward the North Pole—a connection that feels especially fitting for a Canadian artist creating each piece by hand in Northern Alberta. But for me, True North has another, more personal meaning.

In astrology, the North Node symbolizes the direction of growth we are called toward in life—our path into new experiences, greater purpose, and becoming more fully ourselves.

My North Node is in Taurus, a sign associated with creativity, beauty, craftsmanship, nature, patience, and creating something tangible and lasting. Its placement in my birth chart adds another layer—the inner world of intuition, imagination, solitude, and learning to trust the quiet voice within.

Even the bull skull in the True North Silver Co. logo carries part of this story. The bull represents Taurus and serves as a reminder of the path that inspired the name.

For me, following my True North meant trusting that inner pull, learning a craft I had never imagined would become such an important part of my life, and turning inspiration and raw materials into something I could hold in my hands.

True North Silver Co. was born from following mine. My hope is that the pieces I create serve as a reminder to follow yours—to trust your own direction, pursue what calls to you, and create a life that feels authentically your own.
